Connecting to a service
The Client application may connect to one Downloader service at a time. If you have installed both the client and service on the same machine and kept the default network settings, you can simply accept the default connection settings.
The last 10 successful unique connections are kept in a most recently used list for quick access via the host dropdown.
Authentication
All connections require authentication using an account available to the service host. The currently logged-in Windows user credentials are automatically used if you click the standard Connect button, so if the service is on localhost this process should be seamless.
If the service is remote then your local credentials may still apply, e.g. in the case of both client and service being in a network with domain authentication. Alternatively you may select the Connect as… dropbutton to manually specify credentials. This will also occur automatically if credentials sent automatically are not valid.
If you choose to Remember my credentials, they will be securely encrypted and stored in the Windows password vault against the service host.
