When new messages are received from the service, they will appear as unread. The default interface styling shows a demarcation between read and unread messages when expanded. It also displays the unread count in the toggle icon area in both expanded and collapsed modes.

Messages are automatically marked as read after being visible for 10 seconds, or immediately when a new message is sent from the website.

Operating system notifications

Where supported by the visitor’s web browser, Send2CRM Messenger will request permission to raise notifications via the operating system.

Permission is requested the first time the user sends a message. This is inline with best practice to only request notifications in response to a user interaction.
