It is assumed that the modifications to the configuration files have already been made to add the required connection string. The configured user will need API access to Account records and the corresponding custom object with the lookup relationship. If the password field is encrypted in Salesforce the API user will need the "View Encrypted Data" system permission. This can be done either directly on the Profile or via a Permission Set.
